Hey Beauties! Hope you all are having a lovely Labor day weekend. Lets just not forget that this holiday is the celebration of the American workers. Not everyone will have the day off, and that needs change. It’s not a celebration for American workers if ALL don’t have the chance to celebrate. (I’m speaking for the retail workers out there). Thank you for your hard work! 😉
Okay, now down to my post review! I sorta been obsessing over a lot of LUSH new hair product lines. So in the next few post I will be review some of there products.
First one is their Sea Spray.
WHAT IS IT:
A sea water and seaweed hold spray for hair styles. It also acts as a volumizer, and frizz tamer, adds shine and acts as a perfume.
WHAT’S IN IT:
Carrageenan Extract (Chondrus crispus) , Sea Water , SD Alcohol , Glycerine , Fine Sea Salt (Sodium Chloride) , PVP Fragrance , *Limonene , *Linalool , Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara) , Grapefruit Oil (Citrus paradisi) , Rosewood oil (Aniba rosaeodora) , Hydroxcitronellal , Geraniol , *Citral , *Farnesol , *Benzyl Benzoate , Methylparaben
(Bold highlights are Safe Synthetics)
HOW TO USE: LUSH’s how to use- Sea Spray can be used in many ways to give hold and style. Apply before blow-drying or after styling, or apply to dry hair and work through for beach waves.
How I use the spray- I began with slightly damp hair, using a DIY Pomade, Shea Butter mixed with Flaxseed Gel, Aloe Vera Gel, and other oils. (post coming soon) doing a Two-Strand Twist Out. After my hair was all twisted, I sprayed my hair with the Sea Spray, and went to bed.
The next day, I took my hair down.
I wanted to see if the spray would keep my twist-out from getting puffy throughout the day. Its been a struggle for me wearing my hair out this summer. Therefore, I took photos of my hair 10 hours later.
My hair style held really well for 10 hours, 8 of those hours running around at work, on a 90 degree sunny day. Now it wasn’t a humid day, there was a slight pleasant breeze. I’m not sure how this spray would hold up on a humid day. I will TRY to keep you all posted on that. I say try, because I don’t usually wear my hair out on humid days. It’s to much of a pain to tame. But. Again. I’ll try. 🙂
SEA SPRAY PROS & CONS:
- holds a style very well
- makes hair very soft, not crunchy
- leaves hair easy to comb it needed
- no filmy residue
- smells great
- no flakiness
- made hair less greasy
- very bouncy hair
- no shine to my hair (was ok with that, my hair is shiny enough)
- the scent doesn’t last all day
- cause some shrinkage
- is not all natural
This product contains 70% sea salt. So what are the benefits of sea salt for hair? Sea Salt can prevent hair loss.
One of the lesser known benefits of sea salt is the stimulation of healthy hair growth. Massaging the scalp with the sea salt aids in improved circulation of blood and strengthens the hair follicles.
Overall, I will be using the product again. It’s not 100% natural. However, sometimes a gals gotta do what a gals gotta do to look good during those hot summer days. LOL!
I do recommend trying the spray if want to hold a style for couple of days and you don’t mind shrinkage.
LUSH Sea Salt Spray is available online at http://www.lush.com or in LUSH retail stores $12.95, 3.3fl.
