YOU NEED:

  • coconut butter
  • sweet almond oil
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • castor oil
  • honey
  • lemon juice
  • bowl & spoon

OK, I think I may have found a solution to all dry hair problems… at least for me this helps BIG time.         A few days I went shopping at my local heath food store, and came across a brand called Artisana Coconut Butter. A 100% usda certified organic product. Researched some reviews on the product, all had great reviews. From cooking, to hair solutions, all positive. So I tried it. When I got it home I tasted it, (great flavor by the way). I took a cup of some and placed  in a separated container for my hair recipes, and left the rest for cooking.

After that I decided to try a hair treatment, It was a cleansing day anyway.

INGREDIENTS: In a bowl add:

  • 2 tsp of coconut butter (more/less depending on your hair length)
  • 5 drops of sweet almond oil
  • 5 drops of evoo
  • 4 drops of castor oil
  • 4 drops of honey
  • 3/4 drops of lemon juice
  • stir ingredients together

TIP: This product mixes great without heat

I did not heat the oils up. I stirred of maybe 3 mins to ensure the coconut butter chunks where gone.  I did come across some chunks as I applied to my hair. To my surprise the chunks glided onto my hair like Shea butter. It was very nice.

Finish results. Smelled amazing.

After applying, I wrapped hair in a plastic bag, and left treatment on hair for 30mins. Rinsed out, cleansed my hair with bentonite clay, apple cider vinegar, evoo,  and coconut oil. After rinsing the clay I twist down my hair and let it air dry.

Finish result.

Finish results

MY THOUGHTS:

I wasn’t surprised that after rinsing the coconut butter treatment out, my hair felt like silk. Seeing as how coconut in general is a blessing from God to afro textured hair. MY biggest surprise was how well moisturized my hair was going on day 5 with only scalp massaging and applying shealoe once to my hair for styling. I do spray water on my hair day and night. But this mask worked wonders on the ends of my hair. Coconut Butter is a great resource for my hair.  This is what my hair needs for every season. I definitely recommend giving this treatment a try. I will be buying this product in bulks. Will be making a pomade soon. Lol.
