Jamila Henna “Natural And Relaxed Hair “

Make sure when you purchase Jamila Henna, the description of this product should read USDA certified, and is labeled "body quality henna.

Hey ya’ll, I recently purchased a box of Jamila henna. I want a little color this summer. So, I researched on Jamila henna effects on hair. I found it’s not only a get way to dye the hair, but it has some amazing benefits for hair.

Stronger hair- The lawsone/dye penetrates the hair shaft, binding with the keratin in the hair. Therefore, making hair stronger. However, if you don’t add some sort of oil to your henna mix, it will dry out hair. For African Amer. hair I strongly recommend coconut oil. Coconut oil coats every strain of our hair, all the way down to the ends. Other oils don’t.

Shinier/Smoother hair- Jamila also helps fill in rough spots on the cuticle. With the cuticle rough edges smoothed over, the hair feels smoother and the cuticle takes a lot less damage during combing and manipulation.

My hair is dark brown, so my hair barely showed any red highlights. I left my mix in for 60mins.
I'm going to give it another try, and leave it in over night.

I did a Super Chunky Twist- Out

Super Chunky Twist-Out in a ponytail. This time the brown show a lot more.

I will do a update next week with more pics. 🙂 God bless, and happy earth day!
