Who: Titi and Miko are the branch founders of the Miss Jessie’s product line. In 1997 sisters Titi and Miko opened Miss Jessie’s Salon to respond to the demand for expertise in natural hair and naturally curly hair.
My Personal Take: I applaud anyone that can start a business and make it flourish. However, I believe ripping people off is the worst way to do it, and MJ is doing just that.
1.Their branding offends me; (turn your kinks into curls) that tag line alone may not only makes me wonder: “what’s wrong with kinks, and why should I turn them into curls”?
2. The CHEAP in ingredients that put in their over price products.
Example of their curly pudding ingredients: water, parafinium liquidum, glycerin, triethanolamine, fragrance, carbomer, PEG-12 dimethicone, dipropylene glycol, silk amino acids, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, avocado oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, macademia seed oil, oleth05, ethylhexyl methoxycinnanate, disodium EDTA, DMDM hydantion, ext. violet 2.
These are a BIG no no for African American hair. Most of it is mineral oil, you might as well buy a jar of vaseline and slap that on your hair, (you’ll be save a few dollars). Now again this is my personal take. I’m not trying to push anyone off their products. But my suggestion for over all healthy hair, do yourself a favor and seek something with natural ingredient at a cheaper price. The products are out there.
Peace, love and grease 🙂
