DIY_photoDIY Mango Pomade:

  • You’ll Need:

    • empty container
    • 1 cup of Mango Butter
    • 1/2 cup of beeswax (melted)
    • 5 drops of jojoba oil  (optional)
    • 5 drops of avocado oil (optional)
    • 5 drops of coconut oil (optional)
    • 1 teaspoon of horsetail powder (for hair growth and elasticity)  (optional)
    1. Place your mango butter in a blender.
    2. Blend until the mango butter is nice and smooth
    3. Remove the mango butter from the blender, scooping it out into a empty container
    4. Pour your hot beeswax onto the mango butter.
    5. Mix the two together
    6. Add you oils
    7. Mix well
    8. Place in a cool area until it solidifies

DIY Shealoe Butter:

  • You’ll Need:

•1/2 cup of Shea Butter
• 1/4 cup of Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera juice
• 2 tablespoons of coconut oil or evoo (extra virgin olive oil)
I recommend coconut oil, its less greasy.
• 3-5 drops of tea tree oil (this acts as a preservative to prevent mold).
• 3 drops of vitamin E oil

Stove Top Directions

Create a double boiler by placing a glass bowl over a small pot of boiling water.
DO NOT let the bowl tip into water.
Add shea butter, coconut oil to the glass bowl, allow to melt. Add honey while oils are hot.

Stir gently. Remove the glass bowl from heat and place on a surface for mixing.

Add aloe vera gel to warm oil and mix using a hand mixer. Add other oils after mixture has cooled down for about 30 minutes.

Place mixture in an air tight container. Place in the refrigerator only for a few hours so it can set, then take it out, place in a cool, dry area.

DIY Lip Balm

  • You’ll Need:
  • Shea Butter:  a natural sun protector
  • Coco Butter: locks in moisture, so you don’t have to continue to apply the product
  • Beeswax: provides hold for the lip balm
  • Castor Oil: natural antibacterial agent (no more cold sores)!
  • Jojoba Oil: rich w/ vitamin E & B, provides a simple, natural way restore moisture to your lips so they become smoother and softer
  • Avocado Oil: rich w/ vitamin A, D, & E, able to heal and irritated areas of the skin
  • Coconut Oil: Locks in moisture
  • Olive Oil: repairs and heals
  • Tea Tree Oil: a natural perservative 

NEXT; *MEASUREMENTS MAY VARY* To fill 12 tubes of  lip balm

  1. boil water in a pot
  2. place in a separate bowl your ingredients
  3. 1 spoonful of coco butter
  4. tsp of shea butter
  5. spoonful of beeswax
  6. once water is boiling hot, turn of the flame
  7. place your bowl of  butters and beeswax into the pot of hot water
  8. wait until the butters/wax is melted
  9. add 5 drops of each oils
  10. mix together
  11. pour the mixture into lip balm containers.

DIY Flax Seed Gel

Supplies:

•2 quart sauce pan
•Fine Mesh Large Strainer
•Large Glass Bowl
•Cloth Dinner Napkin
•10-12 Empty Spice Jars or Small Containers

Makes about 3 cups of natural hair gel

Instructions:

1. In a 2 quart sauce pan, bring water to a boil on high heat.

2. Stir in whole flax seeds and reduce heat to medium-high.

3. Simmer for about 6-10 minutes, stirring constantly until frothy for a few minutes. You don’t want the froth to turn dark yellow. This means it’s burning. Froth should be white.

4. Take pot off stove to cool for 5-10 minutes.

5. Lay a dinner napkin over a large stainless steel mesh strainer that is fitted over a large bowl or pot.

6. Scoop out a cup of the boiled flax seed mixture and pour into the cloth. Let cool if too hot to handle.

7. Grab the sides of the cloth and twist to prepare to squeeze the gel out into a separate bowl large enough to hold 4 cups of liquid.

8. Discard seeds on plate and repeat steps 6-7. Continue until all of the boiled flax seeds have been strained. Makes about 3 cups of gel.

9. Add a mild fragrance, mixing 6-8 drops of lavender essential oil to a tablespoon of almond or jojoba oil. Mix well.

10. Pour the gel into small containers like clean spice jars which give enough for 1-2 applications in each container.

11. Now, your hair gel is ready to use.

12. Store the rest of the small container in the freezer. They keep for months. Simply pull one out and let it thaw out overnight to use in the morning. Refrigerate unused portion and finish using bottle within a week.

DIY Mud Wash for Natural Hair

YOU’LL NEED:

  • bentonite clay
  • coconut oil (optional)
  • olive oil (optional)
  • vitamin e oil
  • ylang ylang
  • aloe vera juice
  • squeezable empty bottle
  1. add 3 spoons of bentonite clay in the bottle
  2. 2 tsp of coconut oil
  3. 1 tsp of olive oil
  4. 1 tsp of vitamin oil
  5. 5 drops of ylang ylang
  6. 1 tsp of aloe vera juice
  7. 1 spoon of apple cider vinegar

DIY SHEA COCO BUTTER MILK

YOU’LL NEED:

  • 1/2 BOTTLE OF MIXED OIL (coconut, olive, castor, bringraj (optional), almond, vatika (optional), and vitmain e oil)
  • 1/3 of  SHEA BUTTER AND COCO BUTTER IN A CONTAINER
  • BEESWAX PETALS
  • BOILING TEA POT/ POT
  • BOILING WATER

This may sound time consuming. However, you and your hair won’t regret it.

Steps:

  1. boil water
  2. once boiled, pour the water in a thick glass/ porcelain bowl
  3. take a soup spoon of beeswax petals and place them a small separate container
  4. place the container of beeswax into the hot water bowl
  5. let it sit until liquified
  6. mix the liquified wax with the shea/coco butter.
  7. place the mixture of both the beeswax and shea/coco butter into the hot water. (if the water begins to cool, reheat)
  8. once the beeswax and shea butter mixture is liquified, pour it into the 1/2 bottle of oil.
  9. give the bottle a shake.
  10. And your done

NOW WHATEVER SIZE BOTTLES YOU BUY, YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR ON JUDGEMENT OF MEASUREMENTS!!!

Make guess, play around, until you have found the right consistency you prefer.

Whipped Shea Recipe *Natural Hair 4B/4C* NEW

This recipe is what I currently use to seal my hair after a fresh wash and condition.

Ingredients:
½ cup shea butter
1 tbsp vatika hair oil (or oil of your choice)
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp vitamin e
1 tsp lavender (for fragrance)

Instructions:
Break the shea butter into small pieces and place in a bowl.  Using a hand mixer, whip the shea butter until fluffy and the chunks are gone. Add in the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly with the hand mixer. DONE!

Deep Conditioner *Natural Hair 4b/4c* NEW

You’ll need

To restore moisture, and body to my hair through this harsh, on again off again winter I’m using;

  • Extra Vigin Olive Oil (EVOO)
  • Coconut Oil
  • Honey
  • Everyday Shea Moisturizing Conditioner (optional, any water base condition will do)

Stir the ingredients together, place in microwave for 15 seconds. That apply to hair.

Leave in for 30 minutes. Then rinse with warm water. :)

 

COCONUT BUTTER HAIR MASK

YOU NEED:

  • coconut butter
  • sweet almond oil
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • castor oil
  • honey
  • lemon juice
  • bowl & spoon

INGREDIENTS: In a bowl add:

  • 2 tsp of coconut butter (more/less depending on your hair length)
  • 5 drops of sweet almond oil
  • 5 drops of evoo
  • 4 drops of castor oil
  • 4 drops of honey
  • 3/4 drops of lemon juice
  • stir ingredients together

TIP: This product mixes great without heat. LEAVE- IN FOR  30MINS

It is also nice to see someone who has beautiful natural hair and is not pushing/promoting every produce there is in the stores/online to achieve beautiful healthy hair.
